Sept 8: I just launched a bunch of new auctions... bears, gloves and sketch cards! Please check them out here!!
It's 2008 and time for another new fundraiser!

My friend Marco over at 258west.com came up with this -- recruiting generous artists to create sketch cards to auction off for the cause! You'll notice lots of tributes to great women of SciFi/Fantasy/Comics: Wonder Woman, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, River Tam, Dana Scully, Ellen Ripley, Starbuck, Princess Leia and so many more!

Check them out here!

I'm adding new bears all the time, so check back often! I always write about them in my blog. And if you'd like to be alerted when future auctions launch, scroll down and join my mailing list! Latest signers include Adam West, Beau Bridges, Sean Astin, Michael Emerson, Josh Groban, John Barrowman, and George Takei!

Everlast has very generously donated pink boxing gloves to help with my fundraising! Click through to see who we've gotten to sign them... like the cast of Scrubs, Kristen Bell, and the cast and creative team of Dr. Horrible!

Thank You for Visiting My Website!

I started doing the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in 2002 after breast cancer hit my mom, my cousin and my step-mom in the course of just a few years. All three are survivors. Unfortunately, of course, not all are so lucky. And I've come to realize, through my fundraising and talking about the walk, that almost everyone I know has been touched by this disease.

Thanks again for visiting my site and for your support!

Fundraiser at Fred's!

The fundraiser at Fred's on June 9 was a great success... thank you so much to everyone who attended and supported the event... we raised $2330 for The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and had a great time doing it!

I'd never really combined the guest bartending with the other "activities" like silent auctions and raffles... and it would have been a disaster without the help of a few people... so special thanks to Sandra, Chad, Abby and Chris for picking up the slack for me beyond the boundaries of the bar. Also, to the bartender who did all the real work -- Matt -- and the rest of the great folks at Fred's!

This year, we also had a lot of wonderful sponsors who donated prizes for the raffles and auctions as well as gifts for the gift bags... so, please be sure to support them back! They were:

Fred's Restaurant and Bar

Aracadia

Everlast

Vlada Lounge

Club H Fitness

Craving Something Sweet

Wear Your Music

Shecky's

Ate Ave

Hell's Kitchen

Spin Cycle

As some of you know, I headed to Houston on April 12-13 for the first Avon Walk there. It was *great*! The weather was perfect, the route was great... and it was wonderful to see a lot of the people I've gotten to know over the past 6 years of walking.

Huge thanks to all of you who made donations, sent your words of encouragement and helped me make it to, and through, the weekend! The next walk I'll be doing is in New York in October. :)

Thank you so much to everyone who supported me and the rest of the We Walk team in 2007! It was close, but, I did reach my $20,000 fundraising goal... which means you've helped me raise $100,000 since I started walking! And, together, our team raised $39,000!
Take a look around the site... check out the pictures... save up money for the auctions... make a donation... spread the word. Every little bit helps! I hope you're able to join the fight in some capacity this year. :)

Whether you're looking for a new journal for jotting down your to-do lists or a calendar or a fun shirt for a friend, check out my fundraising store! Every purchase includes a donation to the walk!

Nationally, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every three minutes. Click here for more information on this important cause.
